The One Team of staff collected essential items and festive treats for the Taunton Foodbank and the West Somerset Food Cupboard - organisations that help people who are struggling.
Mayor of Taunton Deane, Cllr Hazel Prior-Sankey, and Chairman of West Somerset Council, Cllr Bruce Heywood, made the appeal their Christmas good cause and both were delighted with the response.
Staff, who work for both councils as a single team, raise money throughout the year for a wide range of good causes including Children in Need, Cancer Research and Kidscape.
They raised just over £111 for Save the Children on Christmas Jumper Day last Friday (December 15) and are hoping to top the £700 raised for the Taunton-based charity Open Door last year at the annual Christmas Quiz this week.
