Chairman of the Council, Cllr Bruce Heywood, will be raising the flag, maintaining the tradition set in previous years. Members of the public are very welcome to join representatives from the Armed Forces, councillors and staff at 11am.
Cllr Heywood will lead the tributes, with Armed Forces Champion Cllr Stuart Dowding. Chief executive Penny James is due to join the civic group and is encouraging people to support the event: “Our Armed Forces continue to command our respect for their professionalism and dedication.
“Flying the flag is our way of showing our gratitude and respect for the professionalism, commitment and courage of our Armed Forces, past, present and future. Put simply, they are the reason that we can live all live peacefully at home.”
