Who will decide on which projects get funding?

The Planning Obligations Group (POG) which is made up of planning specialists and West Somerset Councillors will assess ‘expressions of interest’ (EOI) and applications.  If the EOI is successful, the applicant will be invited to submit a full application.  The applications and comments from a Community Officer will be assessed by the POG, before final decisions are made by West Somerset Council's Cabinet (applications up to £25,000).  For applications over £25,000 the decision also needs to be approved by full Council.

Small Grants £3,000 and under
For applications of £3,000 and under there is a quick process which involves submitting a simple application (see application £3,000 and under).  Applications can be submitted anytime.  Once the POG has made a decision the applicant will be notified soon after.

Larger Grants over £3,000
When applying for more than £3,000 an Expression of Interest form will need to be submitted and approved.  The deadline for submitting an application is shown above.
