Minehead Town Centre Business Improvement District

In November 2016 Minehead Chamber of Commerce and West Somerset Council jointly commissioned some feasibility work to look into the viability of developing a Business Improvement District (BID) for Minehead Town Centre. This was a robust piece of consultation work with the involvement of approximately 50 local businesses as well as the relevant departments of the local authority. The resultant report has defined a proposed Town Centre BID area which has been based on geographical cohesion as well as its  potential for meaningful income generation for town centre projects which will benefit businesses within the area. The full feasibility report can be viewed on the right hand side of this page.
The next stage of this project is to work up a business plan for the BID over the autumn / winter of 2017/18 with the BID likely to go to ballot in Spring 2018.
